About Cialis

Cialis works by preventing the action of a chemical in the body called phosphodiesterase type 5. This means that the blood vessels are kept dilated for longer, improving blood flow to the penis and maintaining an erection.

Before taking Cialis

Before taking Cialis make sure your doctor or pharmacist knows:

  • If you suffer from heart problems including a recent heart attack, or heart failure
  • If you have had a stroke in the last six months
  • If you have liver or kidney problems
  • If you have problems with your eyesight
  • If you suffer from hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, the Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption

How to take Cialis

  • Take your medicine at least 30 minutes before sexual activity.
  • Cialis should be taken once daily only.

Getting the most from your treatment

  • Cialis may still be effective up to 36 hours after taking the tablet.
  • Cialis does not work if there is no sexual stimulation; you and your partner will need to engage in foreplay, just as you would if you were not taking a medicine for erectile dysfunction.
  • Drinking alcohol may affect your ability to get an erection.

Side Effects

Along with their useful effects all medicines can cause unwanted side effects, which usually improve as your body adjusts to the new medicine. Speak with your doctor or pharmacist if any of the following side effects continue or become troublesome:

Headache, indigestion, dizziness and nasal congestion.

How to store Cialis

  • Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.
  • Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct heat and light.
